The Dive Calculator was programmed with the support of artificial intelligence (Claude by Anthropic). Technical specifications, calculation methods and checking are by me. The results were compared with my Excel tables and with reference dive plans from proven deco software. The app itself does not use AI, and your input is not sent to any AI service.

Protecting your personal data matters to me. I treat your data confidentially and in accordance with the law (GDPR, Austrian Data Protection Act). This page explains which data the Dive Calculator stores and why.

Data stored

Email address – for logging in by link or code and to assign your access.
Access data – status (trial, active, blocked), unlocked calculators, validity, time of registration and of the last login.
Devices – so that access applies to at most three devices: a random device identifier from the browser, device and browser type (e.g. “iPhone · Safari”), first and last use. Logging out deletes the device.
Own logo – only if it is activated for you and you upload one: the image and the name next to it. Kept in private storage, visible only to you and the administrator. “Remove logo” deletes it.
Feedback – only if you use “Send feedback”: your text, the type of message, app version, the calculator open at the time and browser/device.
Technical logs – when you access the site, the servers briefly store IP address, time and browser identifier. This is necessary for operation and security.

Your input in the calculators (depths, gases, dive plans etc.) is not sent to me.

Storage in your browser

The Dive Calculator stores on your device (in browser storage) your settings including language and units, the values you entered last, whether you have seen notices and the introduction, the login, and a copy of the calculators for offline use. This data stays on your device. “Log out” deletes the offline copy. There are no advertising or analytics cookies and no tracking.

Purpose and legal basis

The data is used only to provide the Dive Calculator, manage your access and reply to feedback (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Technical logs serve secure operation (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data is not passed on for advertising and not sold.

Service providers

I use the following providers, who process data only on my behalf:

Supabase (Supabase Inc., USA) – login, database and sending of login emails. The data is stored in a data centre in the EU (Paris).
Netlify (Netlify Inc., USA) – hosting of the website.
jsDelivr – delivers a program library for the login; your IP address is transmitted in the process.

Where data may reach the USA, this is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU standard contractual clauses.

Retention

Account data is kept as long as you have access. On request I delete your access including email address and feedback. Feedback is deleted once it has been dealt with and is no longer needed. Technical logs are deleted automatically by the providers after a short time.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Just write to easydiving.fun@gmail.com.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: www.dsb.gv.at.

Data transmission on the internet (e.g. by email) can have security gaps. Complete protection against access by third parties is not possible.

The German version is the legally binding one.
